This page will explain how to change a user's password for various Mac OS stations.  However,  if you have not read about how to choose a user password, please read that now before proceeding.  





Mac OS:

The Geeky IT Way:

  • Open up a shell
  • Type ' sudo passwd name_of_user'
  • Press 'Enter'

Done.


The Easy Way:
  • Click on System Preferences
  • Under System, Click on 'Accounts'
  • Select the user you want to work with and select 'Change Password...' in the main window
  • Enter in the old password and again in the 'Verify' field.
  • At this time, you can also enter in a hint to remind yourself of the password (like a hint - uhm do not put the password in the hint section). 
  • Click on 'Change Password'. 

Done.
